As with all colleges and universities, Capitol College utilizes endowment funds to support students, faculty and staff. Capitol College offers a flexible endowment program that allows the alumni and friends of Capitol to contribute to the college's endowment at any level. The endowment ensures continued excellence by supporting new programs and innovative ideas, and providing scholarship support. Contributions to the endowment fund are invested to ensure the perpetuity of the endowment while providing the college with income each year.
Capitol’s use of annual endowment disbursements is determined by the Board of Trustees and the Executive Council. Once a donor’s gift appreciates to more than $30,000, his or her endowment is separated from the pooled fund and is recognized as a singular endowment. At that time, the donor is contacted with the option of selecting a focus for the named endowment, such as academic or scholarship support and library resources.
