Institutional Scholarships

First-Year Students

High school students who apply to Capitol Technology University for admission as first-year students automatically have their applications reviewed for one of four institutional scholarship programs. Students whose cumulative grade point average and SAT scores fit into the Merit Scholarship Grid will automatically receive a scholarship. They will be notified by the Office of Admissions of their award amount.

All the scholarships are annually renewable to recipients who maintain a 3.0 grade point average and complete 24 credits each year.

Capitol Scholars Program Scholarship

The Capitol Scholars Program is designed for 14 remarkable students who have the ability to excel in the fields of engineering, information technology, and computer science. Scholars not only receive a full scholarship, but the opportunity to participate in a prestigious four-year program that is challenging, integrated, and hands-on.

Business Leadership Scholarship
The Business Leadership Scholarship is a competitive program designed for 15 remarkable students who have the ability to excel in the fields of Management, Business and Technology Marketing. These business leaders not only receive a full tuition scholarship, but the opportunity to participate in a prestigious four-year program that is challenging, integrated, and hands-on. Students must maintain full-time enrollment, must live in residence halls and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Richard J. Heiman Scholarship
Named in honor of a dedicated member of the Capitol Technology University Board of Trustees, this is the most honored and prestigious of the institutional scholarships. Awards range from $10,000 to $12,000. Eligible applicants will have at least a 3.7 cumulative GPA and a combined SAT CR/M score of at least 1200. Heiman Scholarship awardees are invited to our Capitol Scholars program in January to compete for additional scholarships up to full tuition.

Presidential Scholarship
Eligible applicants will have at least a 3.5 GPA and a combined SAT CR/M score of at least 1100. Awards range from $7,000 to $9,000.

Board of Trustees Scholarship
Named to recognize the service and support of the college’s Board of Trustees members. Awards range from $4,000 to $6,000. Eligible applicants will have at least a 3.3 GPA and a combined SAT CR/M score of at least 1000.

FIRST Robotics Scholarship

Capitol Technology University offers a $5,000 scholarship to FIRST Robotics students. These funds may be used toward any undergraduate course of study at the college and the award is renewable up to a total of $20,000 over four years, contingent upon good academic standing.
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a senior in high school
  • Have participated in at least one full season during your junior or senior year on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team or a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team

 

Transfer Students

Capitol Technology University Scholarships

These scholarships, ranging from $4,000 to $10,000, are offered to qualifying community college students who transfer to Capitol Technology University. Eligible students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and submit an essay. The scholarship is renewable to students who maintain a 2.8 GPA and complete 24 credits each academic year.

Transfer Leadership Scholarships

The Transfer Leadership Scholarship is a competitive program designed for 20 high achieving students transferring from a partner Community College.  These students are nominated by the partner institution and have demonstrated a high ability to excel in the fields of Management, Business and Technology Marketing.  Selected students not only receive a full tuition scholarship in excess of federal and state aid, but the opportunity to participate in a prestigious program that is challenging, integrated, and hands-on.  Students must maintain full-time enrollment, must live in residence halls and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
